ACQUISITION CENTRAL is hosted by IAE (Integrated Acquisition Environment), the E-Gov Initiative that is streamlining the federal acquisition process. Acquisition Central hopes to reach out to help every member of the acquisition community by providing one website for all things acquisition. This website was recently redesigned to create an easily navigable resource to share the efforts of IAE as it works to achieve its vision of more efficient and transparent practices through better use of information, people, processes and technology. CAGE Codes Commercial and Government Entity code management. The Defense Logistics Information Service (DLIS) has sole responsibility for assigning and maintaining the CAGE Code Master File.The CAGE Code is a five position code that identifies contractors doing business with the Federal Government, NATO member nations, and other foreign governments. The CAGE Code is used to support a variety of mechanized systems throughout the government and provides for a standardized method of identifying a given facility at a specific location. The code may be used for a Facility Clearance, a Pre-award survey, automated Bidders Lists, identification of Debarred Bidders, fast pay processes, etc.
Central Contractor Registration Any contractor, supplier or travel agent, who wants to do business with DoD must be registered in the CCR database.
Defense Logistics Agency’s Procurement Technical Assistance Program The Defense Logistics Agency supplies the nation's military services and several civilian agencies with the critical resources they need to accomplish their worldwide missions. DLA provides wide-ranging logistical support for peacetime and wartime operations as well as emergency preparedness and humanitarian missions. Federal Executive Boards The Federal Executive Boards (FEBs) were established in 1961 by a Presidential Directive to improve coordination among Federal activities and programs outside Washington. The need for effective coordination among the field activities of Federal departments and agencies was then, and is still, very clear. Each FEB provides input to GSA's Per Diems and related travel management. Approximately 84 percent of all Federal employees work outside the national capital area. Decisions affecting the expenditure of billions of dollars are made in the field. Federal programs have their impact largely through the actions of field representatives of the departments and agencies. In addition, Federal officials outside Washington are the principal contact of the Federal Government with the citizens of this country.
Federal Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization The mission of the Federal Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) Directors Interagency Council is to exchange information on methods, initiatives, and processes that will permit federal agencies to more effectively utilize small businesses in prime contracts and subcontracts to the maximum extent practicable.
